Janner, Barnett

(1892-1982)
   Welsh politician and communal leader. He served as a member of parliament - as a Liberal from 1931 to 1935 and as a Labour member from 1945 to 1970. He was also president of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland, and of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. He was knighted and then created a life peer.
